It’s okay to feel alarmed in the event of a missed period or if you start experiencing early pregnancy symptoms. However, the former can be due to causes like stress, an illness, irregular sleep cycles, flying frequently, certain medications, or specific afflictions like Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).
Early pregnancy symptoms can be the result of a combination of common daily discomforts, including fatigue, frequent urination, breast tenderness, and food sensitivity.
However, the test result could also be a false negative. There are various reasons for this, including testing before you miss your period. Remember, hCG levels take time to build up after a successful fertilisation occurs. Additionally, drinking too much water before taking a pregnancy test could dilute the hCG in your urine and lead to false negative.
Therefore, consult your primary care physician or gynaecologist if you feel that you are pregnant, even if your pregnancy test at home shows otherwise.
